Rainbow Kyanite is natural Black Kyanite that has been electroplated to give an enhancing rainbow/aura effect. This process is merely for aesthetic purposes and does not compromise any of Kyanite's metaphysical properties.
Electroplating is the electrochemical deposition of metal and happens when an anode (copper) and a cathode (object) are immersed in a bath that is composed of metal salts. A current is passed through the solution which causes the transfer of metal ions in the solution and onto the cathode surface (Kyanite) and over time, causes it to permanently bond onto the object.
BLACK KYANITE
Black Kyanite does not need cleansing and is a helpful in healing because it can clear energy blockages in any of the chakras. It can take one back to past lives and integrate the lessons back into this reality. It is both grounding and energizing and can allow one to increase their vibrational frequency without feeling out of their body. It is great for use in meditation and hypnosis due to feelings of peace and serenity that it produces. Overall, this is a great stone for spiritual healing as it clears any imbalances and connects one to the divine.

Unfortunately the discolouration of silver is due to a natural process of oxidisation with the air and there is nothing we can do about it except give the jewellery a polish now and then.
