ABOUT GENE
Gene is the newest member to our Eternal Spirit team. He developed
an interest in the healing properties of massage many years
ago and found it beneficial on several levels. Regular massage
provided healing when he was participating in long distance
cycling events and it also gave him time out to relax and
reconnect with himself, something which is not easy to do
in this hectic world. As Gene's interest grew, he decided
to study massage therapy which opened the door to another
world! Gene has trained not only in Adelaide but also in Queensland
in order to get a broader knowledge of the different massage
techniques out there.
WHAT DOES HE OFFER?
1. Relaxation Massage
A completely relaxing massage using long stroking techniques
to relax your mind and body. Designed to reduce tension and
relieve muscular fatigue, a Relaxation Massage is the perfect
treatment for a weary mind or body.
2.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points can occur in muscles and they often refer to
pain in other areas of the body. A common example is headache
thought to be induced by stress or tension.
Palpating and treating trigger points in the upper back and
neck often relieves this headache pain. The purpose of Trigger
Point Therapy, in this case, is to eliminate pain and to re-educate
muscles. Trigger Point Therapy can also help to ‘un-knot’
muscles and to assist with improving flexibility and range
of motion.
3.
Myofascial Release
A gentle technique of stretching and massage, Myofascial Release
Therapy uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote
healing, release and pain relief. This therapy is based
on the concept that factors such as poor posture, physical
injury, illness and emotional stress can cause the body to
become mis-aligned. Using this gentle bodywork technique the
therapist ‘listens’ to the client’s body to facilitate postural
change and wellbeing.
4.
Sports Massage
A special form of massage that is used typically before and
after athletic events. Whether working out in the gym or competing
in sporting events, this massage prepares you for peak performance.
Sports Massage drains away fatigue, reduces muscle tension,
relieves swelling and promotes flexibility to help prevent
injuries.
5.
Ka Huna Massage
Ka Huna bodywork, also known as Hawaiian Temple style massage
originated in the South Pacific where it was used during Rites
of Passage as a transformational massage and healing system.
It provides an holistic approach to healing by balancing the
body-mind and its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.
Working with energy while applying soft and deep tissue massage,
the practitioner uses their hands, forearms and elbows.
6.
Lymphatic Drainage
A gentle form of massage using slow, rhythmic strokes aimed
at assisting the body’s detoxification process. This gentle
and relaxing massage, when used regularly, can assist in helping
to improve the immune system, circulation, relieving fluid
retention, relieve sinus
congestion and help provide relief to some allergies including
hayfever.
